When it comes to period pain, it is no joke, especially for women who have endometriosis. Or for others who naturally experience painful cramps during their menstrual cycle. It can feel like someone is stabbing you from the inside -and now, the only thing you want to do is lay curled up on the couch. Hoping that the pain will stop.
And so when it comes to me personally, my pain is typically not too bad. I mean, on the first two days of my cycle, the cramps are the worst. But once those days are over, the pain starts to go away.
So that said if you experience period pain. I have got you covered. Below are my top 4 tips on what I do to help relieve my symptoms for a smoother menstrual cycle.

4 Ways To Alleviate Period Pain
1. Taking my multivitamins
Before taking multivitamins, I always relied on aspirin to fix the pain -but that all changed when I started taking my multivitamins from Nature Made.
They not only make me feel better, but they are great to use. As a backup, if I do not eat healthy or are deficient in particular vitamins. Especially ones such as magnesium and zinc, which can help alleviate some period symptoms.
2. Moving Around
For the first few days of my cycle, I feel lazy. Tired, sleepy, and crampy. Making me not want to do anything but lay in the bed all day.

And so, in situations like this, being active has come in handy. To help ease the pain of my cramps. Something as simple as taking a walk or doing a light workout at the gym works well for me.
3. Staying Hydrated
One benefit of staying hydrated on my cycle is less cramp pain and headaches. Which I did not realize can be made worse if you are dehydrated.
So, I recommend increasing your water intake if you struggle to drink enough water -if you need some help, read my article on (Water Drinking Tips).
4. Using Heat To Alleviate Cramps
When it comes to heat, a warm compress or heating pad is my go-to. Once I put it on my stomach, I feel more relaxed. And the cramps start to subside.
That said, if you’re looking for one, I recommend getting a portable heating pad from Amazon. (click here to view options) They work great if you are at home or on the go. Or get the Samply Hot Water Bottle with Knitted Cover Compress-which offers an array of cute colors.
