Have you ever found it difficult to save money? It seems every time you get money, you have to spend it. Or do you find an excuse to buy something you do not need?
As someone who does this, I suck at saving money. And so, throughout the years, I have put myself in situations that caused me to mess up my finances. I remember being in credit card debt in 2019 for the first time.
It was the worst. I not only screwed up my score, but I learned a valuable lesson in it all. Always pay your bill on time. So, in some ways, that experience was my wake-up call to do better.
And so, for this post, I’ll share what tips I use to save money. Which I find are great for anyone struggling to budget.

8 Ways To Easily Save Money
1. Put Yourself On A Budget
The idea of being on a budget as an adult can seem silly. But if you know yourself and your spending habits, it’s better to know where your money is going. To better understand your finances, which leads me to my second point.
2. Make a spreadsheet of your expenses
One of the best things I did was make a spreadsheet of my monthly expenses. As an entrepreneur, I must keep track of my bills.

And so, even if you are not an entrepreneur or have a business, this method can help you stay organized.
Side tip: Use a notebook if you can’t do a spreadsheet.
3. Cook more at home
Even though ordering out is convenient, it can become expensive if you do it frequently. So, I recommend finding easy recipes you can make, especially if you have little time. You can do one-pot dishes, get creative with a salad, do smoothies, or use an air fryer to make quick meals.
Side Tip: If you do not have time to shop in store check out Amazon Fresh to get groceries delivered straight to your doorstep!
4. Know the difference between wants and needs
If you know the difference, it can help you make better choices. For buying things you do not need. Because when you think about it, most of us buy more things we want than we need.
5. Limit your streaming services
In an age when cable is becoming obsolete, streaming services have become the new way to watch TV. So, a few months ago, I got rid of my Hulu account, plus another streaming service.
Mainly because I barely used them. So, if you have streaming services you use less than others, consider downsizing.
6. Find ways to repurpose your old clothes
If you have a bunch of old clothes, find ways to repurpose them by getting creative. If you have holes, fix them with fabric glue, cut jeans into shorts, make DIY hair accessories, dye your clothes to add a pop of color, or transform old t-shirts into a bag.
7. Do not go overboard with online shopping
One of the best things about online shopping is not leaving the comfort of your home. You can shop in your pajamas, and no one will ever know. But with that, it’s easy to get addicted. So, rather than go overboard, only purchase a few items at a time.
8. Consider taking public transportation more often.
With the way the world is, many people feel unsafe taking public transportation. And look, I get that because my perspective has also changed over the years. But even so, if you constantly use Lyft, Uber, or any other driving service, it will be harder to save money.
So, to help you cut back, use these services on the weekend or a few days out of the week. If that does not work, find a routine that works for you.
In Conclusion
Though saving money is hard, it’s attainable if you stay disciplined and consistent. So, if you found my tips on how to save money helpful, leave a comment. Or share it with a friend who needs help in this department. So, until next time, thanks for reading this post, and remember you can do it. Toodles!
