Before starting a YouTube channel, you want to think about three things. The reason you started, what you hope to achieve, and the type of content you’ll produce. Because when it comes to creating content, it’s about being creative.
So, if you have been thinking about a channel, you have come to the right place.
Check out my top 4 tips below that are not only great if you are on a budget but can also come in handy if you are a beginner.
4 Inexpensive ways to Jumpstart Your Youtube Channel
1. When first starting your youtube channel, start small.
Years ago, when I started doing YouTube, I did not have my Canon T5i DSLR camera. Because, at the time, I could not afford to buy it.
So, in the meantime, I used the webcam on my 2010 Macbook Pro to film my videos for my first two years. Though it may not have been the best quality, I found a way to make it work.
That said, you should always start with what you have. Even if you do not have a laptop, you can use the camera on your cell phone to still make good content until you get to a point where you can afford to upgrade your equipment.
2. Enjoy The Moment And Process
Whether it’s YouTube or doing anything else creative, you should always enjoy the moment. Because when you do things that bring joy, the journey will feel more fulfilling.
So stop focusing on the money and have fun.
3. Get Creative And Make A DIY Tripod Stand
Since I was using a webcam, having a tripod stand was never a priority. So, to achieve the illusion that I was filming at a higher angle, I would take books and magazines from around the house and pile them on top of one another. To give the illusion, I was using a tripod stand.
So get creative with items around the house until you get the money to buy a good-quality tripod stand.
4. Use Good Lighting
Also, when it comes to video quality, having good lighting can sometimes make or break your video. So, if you can, go for natural lighting by shooting earlier in the day to get the best lighting. But if that does not work out, try filming in a room with good lighting. Or, if you want to wait, save your money and invest in a Ring or Softbox light.
In conclusion…
You don’t have to break the bank to get your channel started. Just use a device that has good sound and video quality. And you are all ready to go. With that said, if you found this post helpful or informative, leave comments below. See you all in my next post, toodles!
